Has Your Friend Ever Told You a Joke That Still Makes You Laugh?

I like to laugh, which is why I tend to have friends who make it happen. When one of my close pals, Kyle, had a solo trip to Portland a couple of years ago, I asked him how it was going. (He had given me the world’s longest list of things to do in Santa Barbara when I had spent some time there, so I thought it was only fair to share my limited knowledge of the Pacific Northwest.) 

“It’s going well!,” he said, “I made a friend, even.” 

“Oh, really?” I responded. “Cool!”

“Yeah, his name is Kyler.”

“Kyler?”

“I know,” he said, pausing for dramatic effect. “I guess he’s just more Kyle than me.”

I think I laughed at this joke for a solid minute, and whenever I need to smile, I think of it. It’s so simple, yet so clever. And like any good line, the smooth delivery made all the difference.
