This L.A. Home Is a Kid’s Paradise, and That’s the Point
Jimmy Barker has made plenty of adult decisions, thank you very much. He was once a Londoner who moved to Los Angeles, settling in Highland Park because it reminded him of the artistic neighborhoods east of the Thames. He sought a creative change after being part of the management side of the music industry, so he started the luxury fashion line All Beneath Heaven and plans to launch it this summer.
It’s just that when it came to figuring out his home’s dynamic, he decided it was best to consult his younger self. His way younger self.
“When I imagined how I wanted my home to feel, I thought about how everything felt when I was five,” he says. “I wanted to channel those feelings of curiosity and intuition, the way we interact with things when we’re children. Being free to play is important.”
