This Rundown Silver Lake Home Had the Square Footage, It Just Needed the Right Style

When you move to Silver Lake, there’s an unsaid understanding that you’re most likely getting the scene over square footage. “Silver Lake is the trendiest neighborhood in L.A., and this house is located in a prime area, a block away from the Silver Lake Reservoir,” says realtor Lori Levine Harris.

Although the streets are often lined in palm trees and dappled by coveted natural light, the families and celebrities that call this city home are routinely squished next to one another on the sides of rolling hills, with hedges and fences providing just enough privacy from inquisitive eyes. One property was different. “Typically, homes in Silver Lake are on the smaller side, but this baby is almost 5,000 square feet,” Lori says. “It just was run down and needed a lot of attention.”
