This Shop Holds the Secret for Making Sure Your Home Always Smells Good

If there’s one thing I love about spending a cozy night in — you know, other than a fuzzy blanket and a not-too-long movie — it’s lighting a candle. While this detail may be small in comparison to other components of the evening, it’s far from insignificant. A good candle provides an easy ambiance. It has the power to make a boring ol’ Tuesday night feel special. And if it smells good, well, then it can effortlessly boost your mood.

A few months ago, a new scent company called Lohn popped into my inbox. The kaleidoscopic colors of the boxes caught my eye, although I also appreciated that the candles themselves are beautifully bare. The scent combinations of bergamot and black tea, spruce and woodsmoke, and basil and mint all seemed interesting yet familiar, and the holders themselves came in a perfect size for tables and countertops. More so, the company has a line of room sprays for when you want the effect of a scented candle without the same commitment. After scrolling and debating, I picked up a candle and a mist — and I’ve never loved the way my home smells more.

The candle lasted for weeks after near-nightly burns, and looked beautiful twinkling on my console. I even cleaned out the candle’s glass holder after the wax had completely melted away so that I could save it for some future need, even if that need has to be conjured up eventually. And since the “everywhere mist” spray is made from essential oils, I can use it without worrying about pesky allergies.
